Anybody have alignment specs for an '05 3500 4wd?
I remember a thread about alignment that gave some custom specs that addressed shimmy and pull-to-the-right problems. Search as I might, I couldn't find it and I can't seem to get anything to come up on Google regarding stock specs. Anybody have the stock specs on-hand. A link to that thread I mentioned would help, too. I read a piece from Geno's Garage, but it is old (pre-2001).
I just got my front end aligned and here's what I got:
'05 3500 QCLB (160.5" wheelbase) DRW 4wd 5.9L CTD
LF
-0.1 Camber
3.9 Caster
0.06 Toe
LR
-0.5 Camber
3.9 Caster
0.00 Toe
I told them to put it close to 4 on the Caster, due to this thread I'm talking about, but now I'm getting a pull to the right. Brand new tires and a 4500 mile trip coming up. I want to get things right before I ruin my tires. Their shop shows the Caster as being out of spec.

You need to get the caster out to around 5 degrees to compensate for the pull. I originally did a 1 degree offest joint on the passenger side and that cured just about all the problems with pull we had. After 20k I replaced the drivers side with an offset to clean up the slack and had both sides at 4.9-5.1 degrees caster and it was fine then also.
Other than the offset ball joints, the only other choice would adjustable lower control arms.

I am having issues with mine becasue my lift kits longer control arms do not allow for getting the caster in the 5 degree range, the best we were able to get it was like 3.9 and 4.3

Thanks for the info. After driving it around all day, I just decided to leave it as-is. The right-pull went away. I think it was just the new front rotors, calipers, pads settling in. It's handling fine. No wandering, no following ruts, just nice. I'm pleased with it. By the way, the shop said the 05 specs on the caster are 4.7 (-.7/+.8), so I'm under spec a little, but it is handling nicely. We'll see how it handles after a couple thousand miles.
