Just wondering what would happen if you removed the rear shocks and installed airbags.

IIRC, Airbags are supposed to replace springs and shocks. Since I have never had air ride, I have no idea how they would perform on a rough road.

There would be no dampening or sway control without the shocks, a high speed maneuver like an emergency lane change could become scary, though it might ride softer, I am going to remove my shocks to try it.

I advise against it. It may take years to remove the pucker marks from the seat.

When I was driving my truck daily I seriously considered stuffing the rear springs in my garage and sliding in a half a spring pack from a D150 and stuffing air bags on top.
The harsh ride was killing me.

I ended up parking the truck and getting a different daily driver.

I am looking for a good pair oil filled shocks like our trucks came with.
Are pucker marks hard to get out like skid marks or scorch marks?

They last longer because they all texture. I think all will come out given enough steam cleaning though.

That is the difference right there, I had a set of gas adjustable shocks on my rig and every bump I hit I was literally hitting my head on the ceiling of my truck.

I put some old Koni's I had sitting around in the front and what a difference oil filled makes + parabolic springs. I'm saving up for some Billsteins oil filled.
