My 2003 came with standard rearview mirrors. I would like to have the towing mirrors. Has anyone had them changed out and any problems.

Check the Mopar Accessories Catalog for 2003, the Fold-Out Trailer Tow Mirrors wre available for all models. Manual Mirrors are available for $245 and Electric Powered mirrors are available for $345. Check with your Dodge Dealer. 8)

I can't say for sure on the 2003 Ram, but it was a breeze to swap them onto my 99. Remove the door panel, remove three nuts, remove standard mirror, install cool flip out trailer tow mirror, attach three nuts, reinstall door panel, drink beer and admire mirror! repeat for passenger side. Oh and if you get the power mirrors,(which I highly recommend as they weren't available for my 99 and the constant adjustment when folding mirrors out usually required and assistant), you will have to add a step for plugging in the power connector.<br><br>Good luck!

No, but I am about to find out. When I ordered mine it was ordered with the trailer mirrors. But came in without, all the paperwork said it was ordered with them, except the final coded one which they input to Dodge for the &quot;build&quot;<br><br>Apparently it is no problem to change, IF you have power mirrors already. Dealer as sniveling about the cost, said they are now going to cost him $400 instead of the $70 if they had got on the order. Oh well. Mistakes happen and bites his profit a bit but they are being really apologetic and nice about it. Just an extra few hours trip for me to get them installed is all.<br><br>A question on the mirrors. The non trailer mirrors are not equipped with &quot;Objects are closer than they appear&quot; mirrors, what are the trailer tow mirrors like?<br><br>Hunter

How can &quot;*******&quot; say it is going to cost $400 when the remote towing mirros are a dealer installed accessory with MSRP of $345. Invoice on them is probably no more than $170. The tech who installs them will not spend over an hour so his pay maybe $30. Seems to me &quot;*******'s&quot; out of pocket expense is maybe $200.

Yes it can be done and I had the dealer do it when I got the truck. He just swapped them off of a truck on the lot and it took less than a hour to do it. I paid the sticker price and labor, it was under $300 total.<br>No, I did not have them on my orginal order, but when I sat in a truck with them, I HAD to have'm. Mine are powered and heated

Phil<br><br>Not sure why he said $400, but he, the sales manager, has never done the labor end of it, nor has the shop. So, maybe his estimate?<br><br>Anyway, they are glad to do it, and it costs me nada, and he said they will keep the others for &quot;warranty replacements&quot; or wreck exchanges and won't cost them a lot. Gotta remember, my dealer is a little guy, that does not do big city numbers but really works on repeat and customer satisfaction.<br><br>In fact, the night I picked my truck up, I brought in a bottle of Crown Royal for the boys and a bottle of Malibu Rum for the girls.<br><br>Hell, we were having a great little &quot;after hours&quot; time and all these customers kept showing up to do this or that.<br><br>I asked about that, and the reply was, &quot;We are a small town dealer and we have to take care of our customers&quot; (whether they really want to or not)<br><br>Now, that is my kinda Dealer!<br><br>Like the small town feel, our town has one stop light, 1,490 souls!<br><br>But, I love it!<br><br>Hunter

Hunter, Sounds like the atmosphere of our Chrysler-Jeep Dealer. Small town, Placerville, official population about 7000. Family owned and operated. Reputations of friendly, no high pressure sales. Good service. The closest Dodge dealer has a bad reputation so warranty work and service of most Dodges is done by Chrysler dealer at the request of D-C. When they topped of my rear axle without asking they did the fan recall, they washed and vaccumed my truck, all part of warranty service. My wife took her Jeep in for catalytic converter, under warranty. When it was not ready at the time promised, they gave her a free oil &amp; filter change. <br><br>The little guys in rural communities that treat their customers right eventually become known at great distances. They grow, but their little guy attitude remains the same.

Sierra<br><br>I agree, that is one reason I paid, hmmm, maybe $300 more ($300 over invoice when coulda got it for invoice) for the small town feel and the service.<br><br>Think if you took a bottle of Crown into a big city dealer for the boys that they would be ecstatic and haul all the crew into the Sales Managers Office and break out the cokes and stryo cups? I agree with the small town and the service. My dealer gave me invoice + $750.00. When I thought of what it would cost to go somewhere else I'm still saving money. Then he calls about every day with the status of the truck, and even called two days ago to tell me that I'm eligible for the new $1,000 cash deal, and the $500 off the jake. Good service like that is worth a few bucks. IMO
