91 1/2 fuel gauge.

I am having a couple issues with my '91 12 valve. The fuel gauge on the dash reads empty all the time however the low fuel light does come on when the tank starts getting low. Would this be the sendor in the tank or another issue? There is also a sensor on one of the return lines for the transmission cooler on the drivers side right above the transmission oil pan. The sensor is in the line and the wires run up and into the wiring harness. Does anyone have an idea what that sensor is for?

if you can ground the dark blue/yellow stripe wire (sender wire from tank to gauge)either behind the cluster, or somewhere before the tank, gauge should go to full with ign on. if it does, gauge good sender bad, what color is the trans wire you question?

Trans sensor is for high temp (somewhere around Three Mile Island hot) OD cut out. ( I think it is around 280 degrees)

Ok i will trace that wire and see what the deal is. As of now the needle never moves from empty at any point, even with the ign on. The weird part is that the low fuel light still come on when low. On the sensor one wire is orange and one is red. Both are very small gauge. Would make sense it being the OD cutoff
