I would really be interested in seeing a pic of the pedal rubber, it should look brand new. I am suspicious that there are only 3 pics and why would it have all that towing stuff and only 8500 miles? There is also no explanation as to why so few miles, like it was parked for 23.5 years, all very suspicious. Do your due diligence if you plan to bid...Mark

No mileage on it, yet it has problems with the A/C, the parking indicator, speedometer bouncing, and whatever else is wrong with it???

Shouldn't a pristine, preserved vehicle have basically zero issues ?

why is it all rusty on the rear suspension ? With that many miles, wouldn't it still have the original paint on those parts, and rust not had a chance to start ?


I guess it's "possible", but something just doesn't seem right about the whole thing.

The truck has been sitting for 20+ years.
I could write a novel on what I needed to fix on my Imperial after it sat for 14 years. It's a little different with the car being 42 years old but the same stuff applies.

I just stuck my head under my 2014 Chrysler 200 Super S. It was built in December 2013. I bought it from a dealer in MD a few weeks ago. It has 2200 miles and the surface rust is already covering parts of the suspension.

Being a NJ man you should be familiar with stuff corroding despite not being used.

That is one of the things I looked for in the add.
I scrolled around the pictures to see if I could see a brake pedal cover in any of the picture as it should look NEW with that many miles.
I didn't see a picture of it.

I would need some serious paperwork to believe the mileage claim.

Something seems weird about the paint. Yeah, it's 24 years old, but something just doesn't look right....

I've got my '65 Plymouth Belvedere on eBag right now and, quite frankly, am surprised at the car bidding over $8,000 with a couple days left.

You never know what will happen on that site.

I got the same feeling looking at the pics. Just too many little things jumping out at me and making my warning meter go all haywire....

While it is hard to imagine. It sure looks pretty clean.

My late father in laws girlfriend had a 71 chevy pickup with 24000 original miles on it until last year when it got totaled. It was bought by her dad new as a ranch truck on his large ranch in New Mexico and rarely left the ranch property until he passed and she started driving it some. Her daughters car broke down and she let her drive it until the repairs were completed. Some one ran a red light and t boned her. She escaped with relatively minor injuries but truck was totaled. Truck was pristine except for the paint was fading but no rust everything except for the somewhat faded exterior paint looked excellent. Tried to buy it from her several times but she never would sell it.

Look at the pic that shows the trans cross member. The trans is all covered in oil and caked up dirt. That's not what you would see from that low of miles.

NJT I was thinking the same thing. For some reason that paint just doesn't seem right. Also why the new bed liner. Bed liner is used to hide all sort of issues inside the bed.

Simple explanation:

When they took apart the dash to roll back the odometer, they messed up the speedo, and broke the little wire for the shift indicator.

A VIN check would tell a lot. Whomever first bought it would have had it serviced by the dealer during the first few years. Also, with only 8k miles it should have only had one or two owners max.

I say BS on the miles. My shift indicator broke at about 275K. My AC compressor still works. Speedometer first broke at about 250K.

Very nice truck. With those Michelin X original tires (model discontinued in early 90's) I would ask for a depth gauge reading of the remaining tread. That would give you an indication on the actual miles. Whether or not the odo has been tampered with, we can't say, but we do know how flaky these head units can be. Either way, at least you're looking at a truck with less than 50K original miles based on the tires alone.

My 1973 D200 with 94K original miles has a pristine brake pedal cover, but it was used only for highway travel RV style with camper to Alaska and back from California. So little stop and go city beating.


Also, Carfax shows 11 records! Many owners, or other accident/odo events possibly.

Finally, The kid sounds like he has little gen fam with these trucks. Just listen to his opening intro, like he is trying hard to recall the name of what exactly he is showing.
