Is 6mm plunger lift in a 215 pump about 18 deg timing. the chart i have only goes to 16*, but i following the pattern it should be somewhere in there right?

Yes. This is what I figured also for my 215 pump.

What kinda timing would you recommend for a 12v with 60hp injectors, stock turbo, headgasket, and head bolts? My boss has a 98 and tows a travel trailer during the summer. Total weight is a little over 17,000lbs. He wants my buddy to adjust his timing, and we were wondering how far to go with it. Hes also got a fuel plate, but I'm not sure which one. Hes got a built Georend auto in it.
Also, isn't there a formula you can use to figure out how to mark the crank dampner so you know how far 1* is?

Do 16* and install a GSK

yep do 15.5 or 16 and a gsk. also do a search on the drop valve method, thats probally going to be the best way to find tdc. you can use the timing pin to get close.
