6.7 chassis Engine PROBLEM
I just bought my 2007 6.7 3500 chassis western hauler on Monday and with 290 miles the engine emission light came on. It says it is an emission malfunction and vehicle must be taken to dealership! Only ultra low sulfur was put in so It can't have a clogged filter.
Could it be a sensor? Can my engine be damaged?
Mechanics, have you had any problems with this? I am taking it in in the morning. I hope was just loving this truck compared to my Ford.

Well from what it sounds like your truck is still running just fine.
Probably just a little electronic code that needs cleared.
Dont sweat it.
Your engine is fine. Obviously you need to take it to the dealer though.

Don't get upset. I've seen stuff like that happen on 5.9's too. Let em hook up the starscan to it and they'll kown the problem in about two minutes, probably nothing major. I have sold a bunch of 6.7 cab & chassis and have had no problems out of any of them.

Well, I spent six hours at my dodge dealership today and they ran tests for hours and could not find anything wrong. So, I am happy that everything is okay! What would have caused this?

Here is a sugestion, save EVERY fuel station receipt when you fill up the truck so if something serious does happen you can ID the fuel station immediately. Dodge will do everything to stick you with a major repair bill and void your warrenty. You will need to cover all your bases.
