4" or 5" exhaust

Is there any reason to get the flo pro 5 inch exhaust instead of the 4 inch if the truck is used for daily driving and will just have an xzt box or something equivalent? thanks, brad

needaram,

The guys are right, 4.0 will support up to 500 RWHP, it's cheaper, sounds better to most folks and is easier to install in some cases too. Make SURE that you get a system with a packed muffler, the ones that have the hollw core mufflers actually create back pressure ans are the best value for your money etc.

Since you have a 2004.5 + trucks you could just get our MBRP performance replacement muffler and an optional cat test pipe, if you race or go off road, and then you have a 4.0 turbo back system for a very cost effective price.

Call us if you have any questions etc.

I like my 5, and it sounds good too especially when it shifts into OD and lugs down a little.

5" Will have a terrible drone if it's straightpiped but it's way louder than 4" straightpiped. What size is currently on your truck? If you already have 4", why not ditch the stock muffler and get an aftermarket one for better flow? Much cheaper and the money you save can go towards another gift for your truck.

I guess I am lucky. Mine does not drone. In fact the stock exhaust going up the Grapevine (interstate 5) at 70 mph made the cab drone (hum). With the 5" straight it does not do that. However it is loud (outside) when you get on it but it is not raspy. See the other thread..........

All you really need to do is a cat back 4" or a 4" Aeroturbine kit to replace the factory muffler.

I thought it was 3.5 to the muffler and 4 inches muffler back? I am pushing 400 HP now and looking to install the EZ...Attitude. That would put me over 500hp....I'm looking real hard at the 5" from the turbo all the way back...
