Remote Start Install help Needed
I Installed a remote starter on my 05, 3500 CTD. It is in and working but I have a couple more optional wires that need to be connected. Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram or know who to contact to find color and locations for several wires. The wires I need to connect to are the:
Tachometer Wire (Looking for color/location behind the instrament cluster) Waite to Start / Glow Plug Wire (Looking for color/location behine the instrament cluster) The power wire for the dome light (To be used as an input signal for the security system, Should be in one of the kick panels) Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide! |
I hooked up the tachometer wire to the ECM on the side of the engine block because I don't think there is anything behind the dash, same goes for the wait to start light. I think you can go directly to the grid heater or use a timer. I don't know about the interior light. Try www.the12volt.com do a search for Dodge ram

Thanks for the additional information. I keep seeing this "DirectFax document 1091" on several lists and I have no idea where to find this document. Can anyone tell me where to find this document?

I believe that is the document that says you have to wire in a timer module to the wait to start wire on your alarm module. Thats what I did and now my remote start just waits 15 seconds ,after ignition turns on, before cranking the vehicle.

thanks alot for the info.... but i have bad news... i followed the steps exact, but when i hooked up the door locks it fried the module for the remote starter

Help with 07 dodge
Does anyone know where to find the multiplex wire in the 07 its suposed to be purple/brown and i cant locate it!!!

purple/brown MUX wire on an 07
Remove the lower steering column shroud... my notes say ..... *2007 Dodge Ram Pick-Up: MUX wire can be found in SKIM harness above ignition cylinder. The purple/brown MUX wire will run from the ign switch to the transponder ring around the key cyl.. this wire does NOT run down the steering column so you will have to get it up closer to the wheel ... hope this helps let me know if you have any questions i've done quite a few of these trucks .... good luck Chris |

I have a 1989 dodge ram w-250 ctd and i was wondering if anyone could help me find a wiring diagram for this truck. I found one for the 92 ctd and i don't know how much dodge has changed the wiring. Any help is appreciated.

Any one got a lead on a wiring diagram for an 03 5.9L Diesel...would the 04 diagram posted earlier be the same for an 03 5.9L Diesel?
Got an old remote starter lying around which has a 5/10/15 min delayed engine shutdown feature, which should come in handy as a turbo cooler. Was planning to hook up ONLY those connections which will allow the delayed shutdown feature to function & allow the ign key to be turned off & removed. I'm guessing I'll need to tap into pwr/grnd, starter/ignition, tach & brake pedal.....but NOT the glow plug, door locks, lights, horn, etc. |

That wire wouldnt apply to the diesels anyway, if you need a tach wire i can try and look that up for you.

Oh that would be great! The remote starter is going on a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. Was the last schematic posted for a diesel or is the tach wire the only wire that's different?

The tach wire for a diesel should be the gray/black wire in position 8 in the black connector on the PCM. Everything I posted should be the same between the gassers and diesels.
