The pin that rides on the afc cone is not visible that explains why no fuel right? I tried maxxing the full fuel screw. now, it hazes at idle with smoke screw all the way .

Dude I had the EXACT same problem on my truck. Make sure when you index the throttle that you do NOT push down on the shaft even just a little. Been a while since I did mine but iirc, ya have to hold it up a bit and make sure not to budge it. If that's not it then I have no idea. You can search my posts and find the link for it though. Ill pull off the lever and re index it. The lever sat on the splines cleanly though.

i pulled it off and the lever did move. thanks, now i just need to fix the pulsating idle

on the idle, every time i turn the full fuel screw in, my idle starts pulsating. If i back it out it runs fine but at a loss of power. Also, if i have the screw adjusted farther in, i can rev the engine and let off the throttle and the engine's rpm falls back down to 200-300 rpm under idle and then recovers or dies.

I'm not sure about your pulsating idle, but the engine dieing upon decelerating could be due to a dead lift pump. You will need to put a fuel pressure gauge on your rig, at least temporarily and check the pressure. Unfortunately I don't know what the fuel pressure need to be, somebody will jump in here with that info.

i would assume its the same as a vp truck which is no less than 5 psi at wot.

You still have the throttle lever clocked 1 spline too loose.

i had the throttle clocked at stock and it would not idle below 1100 even with low idle screw removed. So, i re-clocked it one spline and was able to adjust it to idle at 700-800. The pulsating idle is gone, but when I turn the full fuel screw in further, it doesnt start to run away as it did previously. It simply revs up and then back down to below idle. Should i still try changing throttle index by one spline? thanks and happy thanksgiving

also on the lift pump, before i started the engine at first, i used the primer on my lp. I noticed that it did not spring back like it once did. i started the truck and forgot to tighten 2 of the injector lines i had loosened to rotate the pump
after squirting fuel all over my driveway and listening to the truck vibrate and sound like my shovelhead, i shut down, tightned everything und used the primer again it sprang back like normal. the truck runs and drives great and still throws off a decent bit of soot, but.... i want my power screw back the way it was. while im at it, what do you recommend for a pressure gauge? i dont care if its mechanical or electrical as long as its reliable and inexpensive. I planned on upgrading my lp for a while now. Should i go with a piston lp, an electric pump, or a new or reman oem. I want to make sure my truck has the fuel it needs at its new found highish rpm. again, trying to stay on the cheap side

On the lift pump, I replaced mine with the low pressure piston pump and I have been very happy with the results. It really depends on what you plan to do with the truck though. My setup wouldn't supply enough fuel for some of the big injectors that you can run in these trucks.

Keep in mind not all injection pumps will respond the same as others. Ie, some will run away, some won't, some quicker or slower than others at different fuel levels, range of throttle indexing etc. I suggest indexing back to where it idled at 1100rpm, then backing your fuel screw out to where it will idle reasonably. If you want more fuel, do with injectors or afc mods, not the fuel screw.
