The almost total lack of noise is puzzling. There is no motion in ANY gear which leads me to think its the input shaft. Figured I'd pull the top cover off and check it out when I pull it.

OR...you could move to PA and we could just call you PaT!! Also...make sure to oil the hinges on that box. Things can get ugly when they get rusty.

Here's a pic of the shiny new NV4500 that is going in the truck!
I wire wheeled the surface rust off the bottom, taped off mating surfaces and shift tower, primed it and painted it Valspar Equipment Yellow. Why you ask? Because TSC discontinued it and I bought 2 cases of it!!

The new NV4500 and South Bend Clutch are installed!! Turns out that the output shaft on the Getrag had been broken at the adapter at some point and WELDED back together. The weld (which was not very good anyway) subsequently broke again. I was pretty surprised when my cousin and I pulled the NP205 and it had 7" of output shaft sticking out of it. I might rebuild it later on. I might also put it on Craigslist for a core.

The truck now moves under it's own power. I may need to install a new clutch master/slave cylinder assembly. The pedal feels squishy and doesn't seem to be disengaging completely.

The things people do to their vehicles never ceases to amaze me!

Yeah that's a new one to me. My best guess is that the PO tried to cobble it back together in order to sell it and make it someone else's problem. Fortunately that didn't happen. I'll post a pic of the shaft this week.

Good guess.

I put a new Rhino Pac clutch master and slave assembly in today. I didn't drive the truck (one of the wheel cylinders is puking brake fluid all over the place and the T/C has no fluid in it). I started it and ran it through the gears a couple times. Seems to shift a little easier. RhinoPac MC/Slave assembly parts fit well and are made in the USA. I'm also installing an Off Road Designs twin stick shifter. I've had to do a bit of modification to the kit since it is basically a Chevy kit.

I think you will like the twin sticks. I have been watching for another stock bolt on stick to do mine(It would be kinda cool to have 2 stock sticks). I did one on the Dana 20 in my odd jeep . Its a good set up.

Glad you got your new "Yellow" tranny into the truck.... Does your new Clutch slave cylinder have a bleeder?

The majority of the reason for twin sticking it is that I'll be running 3.07 rears and would like to have 2LO for backing trailers and traffic. I also don't really like the factory shifter. Plus: Twin sticks are cool! I will probably have a factory bolt on shift stick from an '89 truck left over if you want it. PM me.

I'll try to put some pics up soon. There is no bleeder on on the master/slave assembly. It came as a pre-bled unit. I might try to bleed it by pushing in on the slave cylinder. I have a brand new clutch and a brand new (NOS) transmission. Probably all contributing factors.
